CAN2 Diagnostic Plug
All scanner manufacturers are having to respond to the continual development of vehicle CAN systems.
The CAN2 plug from Launch combines the old Universal CAN and Volvo CAN plugs into a single unit. Vehicles such as new Passats, latest Audis and Golfs, Vectra Cs, Astra Hs - all of these and many more can be accessed.

Main Lead
Whichever diagnostic plug you use, it will have to be attached to the Main Lead. As a result, the lead can eventually come to grief, through being shut in doors, windows, bonnets etc. Ready availability of an inexpensive spare is therefore important.

Mercedes Sprinter Cable
Mercedes Sprinters are very popular and generally have their own 14-pin diagnostic socket, near the passenger's feet. Launch have manufactured a special cable to suit, along with appropriate software. If you don't have this software, it can be supplied free, provided your contract is up to date.

Toyota 16
If the vehicle you are testing is a Toyota with a 16-pin plug, you MUST use the Toyota 16 plug. If you do not, permanent ECU damage, on some models, can result.

Touch Screen Stylus
Although the X431 can be operated by finger touch, it is much simpler to use the correct stylus. Inevitabily, this can become lost, hence the availability of a spare.

What Equipment do we supply?
Formerly a Bosch test equipment distributor of the year, the company now focuses on four principal manufacturers and their products. Biggest seller is the Launch X431 , number one scanner in the world outside the U.S, by sales volume. The X-431 offers the widest range of applications across dozens of makes of vehicle, both European and Asian. A built in printer, Internet updates appearing practically every day and a price of tag of less than £2,500 plus VAT all go to make it an outright winner.
The Autodiagnos MultiTester Pro is a well-established British product with very mature software applications, featuring hardly any gaps in coverage within the target makes. Intended mainly for European vehicles, the comprehensive 300X kit includes all the special leads such as 30-pin Peugeot, 12-pin Renault, 14-pin Sprinter etc, to provide real depth on older as well as nearly-new vehicles. A recent price reduction to under £4,000 plus VAT, together with the option of basic Asian coverage, has hugely boosted it's popularity.
Unlike the X-431 and Autodiagnos products, which are stand-alone devices, the Autocom CDP relies on a P.C. or PDA to drive it and display the output. Communication to the P.C. or PDA can be via serial cable or long-range bluetooth. Highlights include Diesel injector programming on Ford, Fiat, Renault, etc, latest Volvo and Saab, Vectra C all modules, Fiat Stilo service light. Full size scanners such as the three mentioned above incorporate hundreds of individual programmes to suit specific engines, ABS systems, airbags etc. These scanners also feature the universal EOBD (European On Board Diagnostics) programme to allow interrogation of engines and automatic transmissions where a dedicated programme is not available. All Petrol-engined cars sold in the E.C from January 2001, all diesels from January 2004 and many earlier models too are EOBD-compliant. The CCR (Car Code Reader) at less than £70 including VAT capitalises on this universal compatibility. The CCR fits in the palm of one hand and can be plugged into the EOBD diagnostic socket on any vehicle so-equipped. The CCR displays the codes, if any, then erases the computer memory, thus extinguishing the MIL (Management Information Light). The quality of the CCR is superb.
