This category covers hand held test equipment, other than codereaders. For example, the Advanced Battery Analyser tests batteries, alternators and starters, whereas the RW 409 checks individual sensors and can also output a chosen voltage, resistance or frequency, allowing the operator to gauge the effect. This often done by using a CR5 or Launch device.

The COP ARC and HI ARC allow the operator to test secondary ignition systems on petrol engines, areas that can be difficult or even impossible to analyse using codereaders alone.
