Diesel Injector Service Station

CTU1100e Diesel Injector Tester Picture

With the immense growth of diesel vehicles on British roads, the Carbon-Zapp CTU-1100e can be a major profit centre for any garage or injection specialist. Designed at the Carbon-Zapp research centre in Chicago and built in Athens, Greece, it incorporates aerospace-quality components and cutting-edge electronics to tackle virtually any diesel automotive injector, large or small.

Just a few minutes after presenting an injector to the machine, you can actually view it operating under realistic conditions of pressure, temperature, RPM and injector duration. If required, the injector can be thoroughly cleaned, using special detergent and also ultrasonics. Best of all, you don't even have to be present when most of the process is taking place and consumables average only 90p per injector for a full service.

The full kit contains everything you need to handle mechanical injectors, large and small, common-rail (including the new piezo types) and Electronic Unit Injector varieties, from small VW Golfs to huge Scanias, Volvos and MANs.

This machine is surely a real breakthrough in technical capability and garage profitability and the quality of construction is properly reflected in the warranty period of no less than 3 years

Testing

>SPRAY PATTERN TESTING

SPRAY PATTERN TESTING

Illuminated spray test tube with ultra high intensity LED lighting that aids the visibility of the atomization and spray pattern of diesel injectors.
Ultra high vacuum port cleans the accumulated fluid fumes from the spray test tube and provides a vivid sight of the injector spray pattern.
The heated injector holder promotes the simulation of realistic operating conditions.

VOLUMETRIC TESTING

VOLUMETRIC TESTING

Volumetric Test tubes to measure the injected and the returned (relieved) fluid quantity of the injector. A special nozzle adapter is used to precisely measure the sprayed quantity.

Automatic draining function between tests.

Cleaning

Cleaning with Detergent

HEATED DETERGENT CLEANING

A special nozzle adapter is used while treating the diesel injectors in order to avoid detergent fumes & odors.

The Heating function works as a catalyst to boost the efficiency of the detergent, hence optimising the cleaning of the injector.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

ULTRASONIC CLEANING

A New Generation of ultrasonic baths is used for the optimum cleaning of all kinds of deposits, varnishes and gums built-up inside the injectors and other parts of the engine. Revolutionary technologies are incorporated in these units, such as "Degas" function to better prepare the cleaning solution- and the "Sweep" function [33-40KHz] to boost the power of the ultrasonic waves throughout the injectors.

Injectors are being cleaned in a powerful yet quiet ultrasonic bath using a specially engineered cleaning fluid, and heated between 0-90oC, to facilitate efficient cleaning of the injectors, while avoiding long-term damage.

Chemicals

Cleaning Fluid

Specifically engineered and formulated fluids are provided for the diesel tech machines.
The DIESEL TECH detergent activates the inert carbon molecules, resins, dust, varnish and gums that accumulate inside the diesel injector.
Solvent specifically engineered for use with the ultrasonic units.
Non-flammable Diesel testing fluid, characterised by the correct density and fluidicity to provide realistic simulation conditions.

General description of Modern Common Rail Systems

Features

Benefits

The 3rd and 4th generation of the well-proven Common-Rail direct injection system is entering the market today. This means that the injectors, high-pressure pump and electronic engine management system will operate even more efficiently, with a further reduction in fuel consumption, exhaust emissions and combustion noise.

Instead of the previous solenoid valves, the injectors are equipped with Piezo-Ceramics whose crystalline structure changes within milliseconds under an electric voltage. Piezo injectors are considerably lighter and operate at twice the speed of conventional solenoid valves. With a response time of only 0.1 milliseconds, the fuel injection process can be even more precisely suited to the current load and engine speed situation, with favorable effects on emissions, fuel consumption and combustion noise. Thanks to Piezo technology, the number of fuel injections per power stroke has increased from three to five and shortly to seven.

Moreover, the hydraulically optimized injector nozzles have eight holes (previously seven), which ensures even finer distribution of the fuel within the combustion chamber and more efficient mixture formation. Furthermore, the inlet-metered high-pressure pump operates with a maximum injection pressure of 1600 bar and in the future with fourth (4th) generation systems pressures increase up to 2500 bar. Finally, the 4th Generation Common Rail Injection Systems combined with modern diesel engines provide lowest raw emissions and fuel consumption values.
